Art without Barriers -project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF+) project implemented by Savonia University of Applied Sciences and Kuopio Art Museum, which aims to strengthen the inclusion, emotional resilience and well-being of young people and socially disadvantaged people through art.
The project, called Art without Barriers – Inclusiveness through Art works together in a new kind of cooperation with various partners which involves among others visual arts emphasized students, TUVA education groups, Finnish as a second language groups and Niuvanniemi Hospital.
The project utilizes multidisciplinary methods such as art education and service design. The project creates new models of participatory art activities that promote emotional regulation, interaction skills and self-determination. A service model and coachings are also developed during the project, which enable a wider audience to participate through art. Together, we will make the art museum a more open and accessible space where everyone can feel welcome and valued.
